The Alto Campoo ski resort

Alto Hijar River takes up the southwest corner of the Tres Mares Cirque, head of the whole Campoo de Suso glacial valley. Its numerous fountains form mountain spots of great quality. The expanses of beech trees, birches and oak trees take in diverse fauna. This land is the natural border for the last territory of the Cantabrian Brown Bear
The source of the Ebro River and the Ebro Reservoir location
It is at a few kilometres from the source of the Ebro River in the village of Fontibre. Its location has been declared Refugio Nacional de Aves Acuáticas (National Shelter for Aquatic Birds). The reservoir is an example of the ornithological richness in the artificial wet zone and it means an ideal area for the wintering period of the aquatic migratory birds from the north of Europe. The Aula de la Naturaleza y Centro de Educación Ambiental (Nature Hall and Environment Education Centre) of the Alto Ebro River Peninsula de la Lastra are sited in the Ebro Reservoir..
Formed by a large amount of white oak trees it is stretched out along the Valderredible council. This woodland takes in several specimens of beech trees, yew trees and holly trees.
They start in Valderredible (Villaescusa del Ebro) and straight away they go up into Burgos territory. They make up a great natural sight: wide and sinuous meanders dug out of the limestone and full of plant and animal life
Cantabrian Settlement (Argüeso)
